animals as comfortable as possible during their stay with us.

Name: Sir Milton Phillips
Case #: A09585547
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 8+
Primary Breed: Chihuahua
Color: Black & White
Adoption Fee: $50.00
PHILLIP IS CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN
ADOPTING/MEETING HIM PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AT BUTTEHUMANE.ORG,

Say hello to Sir Milton Phillips (Phillip for short). Don’t tell him he’s small (only 4.6 pounds)
because in his mind, he’s the biggest guy on the block! Phillip came to the shelter as a stray
in February 2010 and no one came for him. Phillip has a bit of a “short man” complex and
likes things his way. He would be best suited for a home with no kids and a quiet
environment with not a lot of hustle and bustle. Phillip can sometimes act protective of his
territory and will bark at people he doesn’t know, but once he gets to know you he’s
extremely loving, affectionate and loyal. Phillip also likes his toys and treats and doesn’t
enjoy sharing. He will share with someone he is strongly bonded to, but would rather the
strangers leave him alone while he’s enjoying a tasty snack. Phillip’s current foster home
has two other large sized dogs and cats and Phillip is doing well with them. One of the
bigger dogs is a little too rambunctious for Phillip and he would rather be around other easy
going dogs like himself. Phillip’s foster parents are working on housebreaking and he’s
getting there, but still has to work on it. Phillip’s foster said that he does well in his crate
and doesn’t fuss when they’re at work or school. He loves giving kisses and gets very
excited when you come home. Phillip becomes very bonded to one or two people and will be
your velcro dog. He is VERY loving, and even though he’s an older guy he still loves to play
with toys. Phillip does well on leash and is pretty well behaved once he’s comfortable in his
new environment. His foster also mentioned that he loves cuddling and sleeping in the bed
under the blankets. Phillip’s ideal home would be a quiet one with only one or two people
that he can strongly bond to and not a lot of strangers coming in and out all the time. He
just wants a lap to cuddle into all day long. Adoption- $50
Name: Rita
Case #: A09624195
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 1
Primary Breed: Chihuahua
Secondary Breed: Terrier
Color: Tan and White
Adoption Fee: $150.00
Rita is a six pound diva with a lot of personality. She was
surrendered to the shelter in January 2010 because her family
couldn’t care for her. Rita may look like a lap dog, but she’d
rather run around and play! At first, Rita can be pretty aloof. If
she hasn’t bonded to you, she won’t pay much attention to you.
Once she bonds though, she’s all yours! Rita would like to have a
home with no kids under the age of eight because little kids make
too much noise and scare her. Even though Rita is a diva, she also
has a sensitive side. This side comes out when Rita isn’t
comfortable in her surroundings. During the first days in her new
home, she might act timid and shy, but just give her some time
and she’ll come around. Rita did meet our office cat and was
respectful, so a home with cats would be fine. Rita has lived with
many other small dogs at the shelter and has been getting along
very well with all of them. She is more comfortable around other
small dogs rather than big dogs. Rita is a spunky little dog that is
looking for an active and playful home. Adoption- $150
Name: Norman
Case #: A09762159
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 10+
Primary Breed: Chihuahua
Color: Tan and White
Adoption Fee: $50.00
Norman is a lovable, four pound, senior Chihuahua. He came to the
shelter in February 2010 and no one came for him. Poor Norman’s
nails were so overgrown that they spiraled around nearly breaking
into the pads of his feet! His teeth were some of the worst we’ve
seen here at the shelter. They were absolutely covered in tartar
and only a few were left. We had Norman’s bad teeth pulled, his
mouth cleaned and nails trimmed. Now that he’s had his spa
treatment, Norman is ready to find that perfect lap to settle into for
his remaining years. We believe that after suffering such bad care
for so long, Norman deserves the best home out there. What he’s
looking for is a quiet home with a lap or two that he can relax into.
Norman would rather not have any kids under the age of ten
around in his new home because he likes a quiet and tranquil
environment. Norman is okay with cats, but if they’re big and
bossy, he will be scared of them. Norman has met some dogs at the
shelter and was terrified of the big dogs, but okay with the small
ones. It seems he may prefer a home where the only other pets
are cats that won’t bother him and maybe some fish or birds that
will sing him to sleep. Norman is just asking for a nice place to
retire, where he can be pampered and loved unconditionally,
something he really deserves. Remember, Norman doesn’t have
any teeth, so wet food only in his new home! Adoption- $50
Name: Simon
Case #: A07495464
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 1
Primary Breed: Chihuahua
Color: Brindle w/White
Adoption Fee: $150.00
Simon is a unique looking, one year old Chihuahua. He was
surrendered to the shelter initially when he was only eight
weeks old because his family’s landlord said “no”. Simon was
quickly adopted, but returned in January 2010 because he
wasn’t getting along with the young kids in the home. Simon
was being protective of his owner and when the kids would
come near he would nip at them. Simon would like an adult
only home that is active enough for a very young Chihuahua.
Simon gets along very well with other dogs and would have
no problem fitting into a home with dogs. Simon has also
been around cats his whole life and they are no problem for
him. He is respectful of their space and easy going with them.
Simon is a very loyal pup and usually attaches himself to one
or two members of the family, which is a typical Chihuahua
trait. Simon would love to find a family that wants a playmate
and a lap buddy. Adoption- $150
